Flash offer BASILIO, CARMEN-KID GAVILAN SOUVENIR WALLET (1953)

On September 18,1953 at the War Memorial in Syracuse, New York Carmen Basilio met world welterweight champion Kid Gavilan with the Welterweight Title at stake. Gavilan retained the title with a 15 round split decision over Basilio. Presented here is an original souvenir wallet which was sold for this event.
This is an original, brown leather, Saratoga Petite souvenir wallet. Has 4 clear pages with original advertising still intact. Appears to have never been used. On the front cover in gold embossed lettering is printed, "KID GAVILAN VS. CARMEN BASILIO Sept. 18, 1953." In mint unused condition. As clean as the day it was issued. 2 3/4" x 4 1/4."
