Joe Louis was born on May 13, 1914 in Lafayette, Alabama. On June 22, 1937 he won the World Heavyweight Title from James J. Braddock. He retired after losing to Rocky Marciano on October 26, 1951. His final record was 63-3. Presented here is an original wire photo of Joe Louis which is date stamped April 16, 1935, four days after his win over Roy Lazer in Chicago.
